*About Local 1985
Graphic Rule

SEIU Local 1985's motto is "Whatever it takes, as long as it takes." And Local 1985 has been working toward gaining a voice for Georgia state, county and municipal employees for 20 years.

Formed out of the Civil Rights movement, SEIU Local 1985 is a different kind of local. It represents 5,000 state employees across the state — from workers employed by Parking Company of America to Head Start workers in Atlanta to employees at the Airport to employees with the Department of Family and Children Services.

Walk A Day In My Shoes

To encourage the 2008 presidential candidates to experience working Americans' lives firsthand, and to help them better understand workers' daily struggles, SEIU members are urging every presidential candidate to "Walk a Day in My Shoes" by accompanying them on the job and visiting with them and their families in their homes.
